Resting Heart Rate (RHR)

Measuring resting heart rate

Normally taken seated during the day, your Ambient Resting Heart Rate actually reads 10 to 20 beats per minute (bpm) higher than your True Resting Heart Rate, which should be recorded in the morning upon waking (whilst still led down).

Your Resting Heart Rate can alter under certain conditions or circumstances, such as heat, stress, diet etcetera. Subsequently, these factors should be taken into consideration if testing Resting Heart Rate. You may wish to refer to Pre-Test Precautions.
